Los Gatos-Saratoga Community Education and Recreation, in partnership with the Town of Los Gatos, provides a comprehensive Senior Services program available to all Los Gatos residents age 55 and over.  The Senior Services Program is housed in the Los Gatos Adult Recreation Center, located at 208 East Main Street.

The 55 Plus Program:

The LGS Recreation 55 Plus Program is dedicated to ensuring access to recreational, educational, and wellness opportunities for adults age 55 & better throughout Los Gatos, Saratoga and surrounding areas. Our goal is to provide a sense of belonging and encourage older adults to treat 55 Plus as an opportunity to re-invent themselves, gain fresh perspectives, make new friends and enjoy more adventures. Aquatics Programs
LGS Recreation is excited to announce the expansion of our new aquatics program at the Camden Community Center Pool in partnership with the City of San Jose. LGS Recreation will OPEN and operate the Camden Pool for community use beginning October 3rd, 2011. In addition to our Aquatic Programs offered at the Los Gatos High School Pool. Camden will offer programs such as Lap Swim, Swim Lessons, Swim Team, Water Aerobics, Water Yoga and more.

Table Games and More

Every Wednesday from 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM in the Los Gatos Adult Recreation Center- Large Hall (208 E. Main Street), provides a friendly social atmosphere where participants can work on their game-playing skills while having a lot of fun.  $5 suggested donation. Caregiver United Support Group FREE

Every Thursday @ 4PM-5PM
Care giving can send your emotions on a roller coaster ride, in any 24-hour period you can experience fear, rage, hope, sadness, humor, grief, bravery, fatigue, dedication and be overwhelmed with love. It may come as no surprise, therefore, to hear that caring can play havoc with the caregiver's own physical, emotional and psychological well-being. This is a therapeutic support group is designed for caregivers to have a space that allows them to unload the weight of their experiences, and share their stories to those who can empathize. Facilitated by Natalie Gmora, Counseling Psychology Graduate Student.

The ElderCare Group will be on-site at the LGS Adult Recreation Center the first Friday of every month from 9:00am - 12:00pm. The ElderCare Group provides information about resources that are available in the community to help manage the transitions that accompany aging. Drop ins welcome.

Need someone to talk to about a confidential problem or challenge? Not sure who to turn too? Natalie Gmora, a Counseling Psychology Graduate Student is available every Thursday evenings by appointment only to talk and help provide resources.

Live Oak Senior Nutrition and Service Center

Wednesday’s at the Los Gatos Adult Recreation Center - Large Hall come and socialize and have a great meal with friends at 12:00 PM.  A $2.50 donation is recommended.  There is a choice of salads, sandwiches or hot entrée daily. Transportation is available for the local Los Gatos area.

Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Los Gatos Methodist Church, 111 Church Street, next to Los Gatos High School.  Hot nutritionally balanced meals are served to adults over 60 in a relaxed, supportive environment. Also, join them for free entertainment and educational programs.
