HOW WE WERE FORMED
Los Gatos-Saratoga Community Education and Recreation is a non-profit agency that was formed in 1956 through a joint powers agreement with the local school districts in Los Gatos and Saratoga. The school districts formed the department to ensure the effective and efficient provision of community education and recreation services to the communities of Los Gatos, Saratoga, Monte Sereno and Mountain communities.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to help build a healthy community by providing a wide range of education, recreation and enrichment programs to the citizens of Los Gatos, Saratoga, Monte Sereno and Mountain communities. We receive no tax dollars. We are supported solely by user fees and donations. We carry out our mission by establishing individual and organizational partnerships throughout the community.
