54th ANNUAL CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS/HOLIDAYS PARADE

Saturday, December 4th, 2010- 11AM Rain or Shine!

The 54th Annual Children’s Christmas/Holidays Parade is sponsored by the Los Gatos Lions Club & LGS Recreation, in cooperation with the Town of Los Gatos and Los Gatos High School. The parade has a rich history and we are pleased to be a part of this outstanding community event. The parade will be held this year on Saturday, December 4, 2010. Parade starts at 11:00 A.M., Rain or Shine. Parade Entry Forms will be available on September 13th. Entry Forms are automatically mailed to last year’s entries. New participants may request an Entry Form from LGS Recreation and they will also be available on the LGS Recreation website: www.lgsrecreation.org on September 13th.  The deadline for Parade Entry Forms is Friday October 15th, 2010 by 4:00 P.M.

In addition to being a co-sponsor, LGS Recreation also has an entry in the parade and we invite any child who wishes to dress in costume and march in the parade to join us! To register as part of the LGS Recreation entry, contact the Recreation Office at 354-8700 ext. 226 for Entry Form and further information. Deadline for registering as part of the LGS Recreation entry is Friday, October 8, 2010. Please Note: The parade is a “parade in motion” therefore, children must be able to walk the parade route (approx. 1 mile) at a steady walking pace. Otherwise, they must ride in/on a non-motorized vehicle as part of the LGS Recreation entry. No Santas, motorized vehicles or pets are allowed in the LGS Recreation entry.  But please do dress up! A parent or adult guardian must walk with their child(ren) in the parade.

 

PARADE GRAND MARSHAL NOMINATIONS INVITED

Do you know someone who has been actively involved with the youth in the Los Gatos community you think is deserving of special recognition?  If so, have you considered nominating them for Grand Marshal of the Los Gatos Children’s Christmas/Holidays Parade? This would be a great way of showing community appreciation for their efforts with the youth of our community. The Grand Marshal must be available to ride in the
parade on December 4, 2010. To submit a nomination, you may request a Grand Marshal Nomination Form from: michelle@lgsrecreation.org or call 408-207-4901. Completed nomination forms may be emailed to: michelle@lgsrecreation.org or mailed to: Los Gatos Parade Committee, Attention: Michelle Varno, 123 E. Main St., Los Gatos, CA 95030. Deadline for submitting nomination forms is 4:00 P.M. on November 1, 2010.

 

MUFFINS & SNACK WITH SANTA!

Saturday, December 11th, 2010

An event for the whole family! Avoid lines and crowds as you join us for an old fashioned Santa visit. Gather your friends and relatives and plan to have breakfast with Santa and his Elves. CB Hannegans will provide breakfast & everyone will have a chance to sit on Santa's lap and have their picture taken with Santa! Gifts and goodie bags for everyone as well as a holiday sing-a-long, clown /juggler show, and more!

SANTA IN THE TOWN PLAZA PARK

Santa and his elves will be in the Los Gatos Town Plaza Park! No fee for sitting on Santa's Lap. This wonderful Santa takes the time to talk individually with each each child. Bring your camera to capture the moment, there will not be a photographer at the park. "Santa Paws Day" is when you are welcome to bring your darling four footed friends for a special picture with Santa!

What So Proudly We Hail... Join the Celebration at Los Gatos Civic Center and Los Gatos High School Front Lawn Los Gatos Celebrates

11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. All American Picnic and Games: Begin the day's celebration with Los Gatos Civic Center old-fashioned family games and entertainment. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and drinks will be sold by community service club volunteers. All games, entertainment, and activities will be on the Civic Center Lawn.
