LGSR AAU Basketball Academy Teams

Our competitive basketball program offers a strong emphasis on skill development with experienced and trained coaches. The LGSR AAU Basketball Academy strives for all players to compete at the highest level possible. Players will participate in local, & regional basketball tournaments/scrimmages against other competitive basketball programs. This will be a fast-paced environment where players can expect to improve all levels of their basketball game. We encourage you to register in advance for the tryouts, for planning purposes. If you are unable to attend tryouts during our scheduled events, please contact us directly and we will be happy to find a make-up time or offer other alternatives.

Our developmental clinics offers a strong emphasis on skill development with experienced and trained coaches. These sessions are intended for players who want to continue to improve their fundamental skill base and apply these skills in game-like situations.

LGSR AAU Basketball Academy Events

Coach Will Brown

Coach Will is a committed and passionate coach that has been coaching student athletes for 15 years. Coach Will played college basketball for California State University Monterey Bay where he earned honors as Most Inspirational Player and Most Valuable Player. As a former collegiate player he has the experience and knowledge to help young players develop and accomplish their goals. Coach Will uses basketball as an opportunity to help kids discover life skills that will contribute to them being successful both on and off court.

Coach Jared Headshot
Coach Jared Ames

Most recently, Coach Jared was an Assistant Coach for the men’s basketball team at Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC). During his time at SRJC, Coach Jared took part in four Conference Championships, three Final 8 teams, and sent multiple student athletes on to play Division I, Division II, Division III, and NAIA level basketball. Prior to SRJC, Coach Jared was the Head Varsity Coach for the boys’ basketball team at North Monterey County High School where he led the team to a Monterey Bay Conference title and was named Conference Coach and Area Coach of the Year.
Coach Jared has been coaching student athletes for over 15 years. He will focus on positive coaching and fundamental development. In addition, he will take his own experiences as an athlete and as a coach and use that knowledge to teach student athletes through the game of basketball.

Coach Bill Wilson

Coach Bill is a retired Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy. He has been coaching Basketball, Soccer & Baseball for over 20 years and has coached over 40 teams. He looks forward to teaching your children “life lessons” that come by playing competitive sports at a high level. Bill will focus on teaching the fundamentals of playing basketball, and
will also focus on teaching student athletes about team competition, sportsmanship, teamwork & being a good team member.

Coach Everson Lacerda

Coach Everson is originally from Brazil.  He has played on all levels of basketball throughout his career, Including: Junior College, NCAA and Professional. His passion for coaching started during college, where he began to coach after school program while in college. After graduating in Finance, Coach Everson played in Brazil from 2012 through 2017, achieving his dream to play at the professional level. He played for the LNB (Brazilian First League).  Coach Everson returned to the United States and since then he has coached at South Bay Hustle (AAU), Campbell Middle School, and was the assistant Coach for Las Positas College. Coach Everson was also the Head Coach at San Jose Knights Basketball, a semi-Professional basketball team part of the ABA League.  Coach E loves the game of basketball, and he loves helping kids to achieve their goals and dreams.

Coach Sonnet Yee HEADSHOT
Coach Sonet Yee

Coach Sonet has been coaching at various youth levels for over 10+ years. Most recently, Coach Sonet returned to Mission San Jose High School as a Lead Assistant Coach for the girls’ basketball team in Fremont. Before coaching, Coach Sonet played at the collegiate level for Menlo College (2-time Academic All-American, 2nd in Career Assists, 2nd in Assists per season), which included an undefeated season and winning two Cal-Pac Conference titles. She is excited to be giving back to the next generation and pass on any knowledge to teach student athletes through the game of basketball.

Coach Tyrees Carney

Coach Rees is a dedicated and hardworking coach that has years of experience coaching and mentoring student athletes. Coach Rees played high school basketball at Delmar High school, while also playing for several AAU basketball programs during middle school and high school. Coach Rees graduated from Cal State University East Bay with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. As a former mentor and basketball player, he possesses the knowledge and experience to guide young players to successful careers in basketball. During his years of coaching, Coach Rees has continued to evolve his coaching style teach responsibility and the ability to contribute to team work.
